Astroweather offers a specialized weather forecast tailored for astronomical observations. The platform is based on the product developed by 7timer.org, providing astronomical weather forecasts along with sunset/sunrise and moonrise/moonset data.

This web-based meteorological service utilizes data mainly from the NOAA/NCEP Global Forecast System (GFS) numerical weather model.

7Timer! was initially launched in July 2005 as an experimental project supported by the National Astronomical Observatories of China. Substantial updates were carried out in 2008 and 2011. Presently, the platform is backed by the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was originally conceived as a weather prediction tool for astronomical purposes, with the aim to provide accurate information to avid stargazers who were often hindered by unpredictable weather patterns.
